Most financial institutions are known for having sophisticated internal data systems, which are used to distribute information within the diverse divisions and units of an organization, with each unit often having their own internal systems and database structure. To address this situation, FundCollect has developed customized data delivery systems that can effectively communicate with the variety of internal systems. If an extremely low maintenance solution is desired, it is possible to implement this via the client’s own web-infrastructure, but many financial institutions prefer different types of FTP-based data delivery (PUSH/PULL) or VPN-connections, where the specified data series is made available and is updated on a constant basis. In such a case, the financial institutions receive data from FundCollect and update their own databases, and then distribute them internally via their own IT framework. Alternatively, we can implement solutions, where the underlying data is hosted by FundCollect, and is distributed to financial institutions’ own internal systems and web-based solutions via XML data exchange. As an extra service, FundCollect can also incorporate various types of analytical tools, which supplement the investment advisory process and give financial advisors a means to increase service levels for their clients. FundCollect’s components include a wide range of standard applications, which make it possible to generate investment profiles and risk parameters, compare fund performance and risk data between the individual fund groups, and create portfolio simulations. These solutions can be based on the entire fund universe or a limited selection of funds. FundCollect’s data delivery systems and other components can be structured to accompany Internet, Intranet and Extranet solutions. All of FundCollect’s modular investment advisory and analytical tools can be customized to support specific needs associated with sales and advisory activities. A few examples of value added features include:
FundCollect provides financial advisors with tools, which help them evaluate the needs of investors and then present appropriate professional investment recommendations, which can be printed out in a fashion that fits in with the financial institute’s own print design. Financial advisors can also use tools, such as the portfolio X-ray, where a complete picture of the client’s risk exposure, up to date performance and asset allocation is generated, and can be used to evaluate the status of the client’s investments and then illustrate and document support for new and follow up recommendations. Periodic reports can also be generated and sent to investors via e-mail in order to provide an occasional update and status on the client’s current investment portfolio. These tools and components can also be made available via the Internet to enable investors to access a large selection of information, including performance, risk figures, fee structure and administrative costs, as well as asset and portfolio composition, as well as go in create their own portfolio X-ray, compare funds, and monitor risk and asset allocation. |
